Pricing & Terms of Service
Our wedding cake prices start at $5.00* per serving for cream cakes, and $6.00* per serving for fondant cakes. Prices increase according to level of decoration, labor, material, complexity, and special needs. Our prices include the cake, filling, icing, and decoration. Price does not include cake toppers, ornaments, or delivery.
*Price per serving only applies to cakes for servings of 75 and more (3-tiers). Cakes below that threshold are priced individually based on design and complexity.
Payment & Deposit
A minimum 50% deposit is required to place and schedule an order. Total payment of the cake must be made no later than seven (7) days prior to event date. All cake plates, tiers, columns, fountains, figurines, cake stands, ornaments, and stairs are subject to a deposit which will be returned when items are returned cleaned and undamaged. Cakes that are not paid in full at least seven (7) days prior to event delivery date may result in delays or loss of deposit. The client is responsible for ensuring the balance is paid in full to avoid these delays.
Design Change Policy
Wedding Cake design changes are not encouraged and must be approved by Classic Bakery on a case by case basis. If a design change is approved which results in a lower cost cake or desserts, the remaining balance owed to client will be given as store credit.
Wedding cake orders, desserts, or any baked items that are cancelled will only receive a refund in the form of store credit, and only when they are cancelled at least seven (7) days prior to event/delivery date. If A cake is canceled within the seven (7) days, a $200.00 cancellation fee will be charged on top of the original deposit. Orders cancelled three (3) days prior to event/delivery date will not be honored, and the deposit/payment will not be refunded in any form.
Additional Decorations (Fresh flowers, special figurines, etc.)
Customers that are interested in designs that require fresh flowers are responsible for purchasing the flowers and must have the flowers at the event site at the time of delivery. The delivery crew will begin assembling the flowers as per the design layout. We strongly urge customers to bring in any ornaments, special figurines, toppers, and monograms to be inspected before the event date. Fresh floral decorations that are being installed on cakes that are built with one or more faux (styrofoam) tiers must be dropped off at any Classic Bakery location no later than 48 hours prior to delivery time for event.
Cake stands are available for a rental fee of $25.00. Cake stands are subject to a $200.00 security deposit that is refunded when stands are returned cleaned and undamaged. Cake stands must be returned no later than three (3) days after the event date to receive a full refund.
We strongly encourage delivery of all mult-tiered cakes and dessert items. The delivery fee not only includes the physical cost of delivery, but it also ensures that the cake arrives at the event site in a safe and timely manner.
Cake Delivery Fee: $2.00 per mile + $30.00 handling fee (Minimum Delivery fee is $30)
Additional delivery fees may apply for extra-large wedding cakes and delivery outside the DC-metro area and Greater Baltimore.
We strongly encourage deliveries of wedding cakes and/or desserts to be scheduled no more than one (1) hour before guests arrive to the reception venue. Cakes and baked goods are extremely temperature dependent and delicate, and we recommend to have the cake and baked items arrive as the last setup items before doors open to let guests into the venue. Classic Bakery uses 30 minute delivery windows for scheduling deliveries, so when a delivery time is selected, the delivery will occur between the scheduled delivery time and 30 minutes thereafter. If the wedding reception begins at 5:00pm, we recommend delivery to be made no more than one (1) hour prior. Classic Bakery is not responsible for the length of time the cake can sit out due to variables in temperature and humidity that is our of Classic Bakery’s control. We do, however, ensure that cakes can sit out in room temperature (72 degrees) for approximately 4 hours in a safe manner.
