Wedding FAQs
Do you offer tastings?
Classic Bakery offers complimentary one-on-one cake tastings that can be scheduled by visiting our Schedule a Consultation page. Our wedding consultant will meet with you directly during your tasting to answer any questions and assist with designing and pricing your cake.
How far in advance should I order my cake?
We highly recommend orders be placed with as much lead time as possible. During our peak wedding season (April-October), we recommend 3+ months of lead time to ensure availability. Off peak, we recommend 1+ month of lead time. Please check with us directly to check availability if you have less than the preferred lead time.
I have a cake design using real fresh flowers, does Classic Bakery provide the flowers?
We do not sell fresh flowers, you must provide the florals for your design if they are real. We only do sugar, gumpaste, and fondant flowers. If you do not have a florist that you are working with, we have a number of florists that we can recommend. You may also provide your own flowers and Classic Bakery will install them on your wedding cake.
Do you offer cake toppers and cake stands?
Classic Bakery has the ability to produce custom laser cut cake toppers as well as a number of designs and styles that can be custom ordered from our suppliers. You do have the ability to provide your own cake topper as well. As for cake stands, we have a number of options available for rent, but also welcome the use of your own cake stand, or one provided by your decorator.
Do you offer delivery, and how much do you charge?
Classic Bakery highly recommends any tiered cake be delivered by our professional delivery team. The cake will not only arrive on time, but it will arrive in one piece. Delivery cost will be based on a $2 per mile charge and a $25 handling fee (extra large cakes and 4+ tiered cakes may have a delivery upcharge). Our delivery radius is approximately 150 miles.
What do you charge for your wedding cakes?
This is a very important question, and we do not take it lightly. Wedding Cakes are priced based on level of detail, complexity, and serving count. Classic Bakery prides itself on working building a cake that works within your budget. we do not offer a “starting price” as this is simply setting the wrong expectation. You may always email us a copy of your design, and we can quickly price it and let you know if a similar design is possible in a lower price point.
Do you do Fake/Faux/Styrofoam cakes?
Yes we do! Classic Bakery is the leader in styrofoam and faux cake reproduction. We even offer our patented CakeWedge, where a small piece at the base of your cake is real, and you cut it just like real cake! We offer sheet cakes that would be sliced and served to your guests. Not only does this give you maximum creative freedom on your cake, you will likely save anywhere from 30%+ on the cost of your cake. No one will ever know!
What is needed to secure the cake order and "save the date?"
To secure your cake order, we require a non-refundable deposit of 50% to “save the date.” The balance is due 7 days before the wedding date. We also offer a 5% discount on cakes paid in full up front.
Do you do any other desserts for wedding besides cake?
Classic Bakery is a full service bakery and pastry shop that does it all! We have a large range of custom individually decorated desserts from cupcakes, to cake pops, to dessert tables, and much more! We are open to special requests and always love working with the latest trends to keep our brides at the leading edge! Ask your wedding consultant about desserts and customized dessert tables at your consultation.
Do you offer cake cutting services?
We do not offer tiered cake cutting service. Normally, your caterer or venue staff is responsible for cutting the cakes. We do, however, offer pre-sliced sheet cakes cut in rectangular shapes that you may purchase.
